Dr. Ken Shimizu Dr. Ken Shimizu received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the U.B.C. Faculty of Dentistry in June 1979. For over 38 years, Dr. Shimizu provided dental care to his patients in the Tri-Cities. Dr. Shimizu recently sold his dental practice and has joined Dr. David Burdett, his dental school classmate, at his offices in New Westminster. Dr. Shimizu was born at Vancouver General Hospital and grew up in Burnaby. As a third-generation Japanese Canadian, he has a deep desire to learn more about his Japanese heritage. He holds a second-degree black belt in judo and helps instructs at a local club. Dr. Shimizu also regularly volunteers for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He is an avid sports fan, but above all, he enjoys activities and vacations with his family and friends. He is married to his wife, April, his teenage sweetheart. They have two grown children, Andrea and Mark. Dr. And Mrs. Shimizu are now grandparents to Alex and Aubrey, who bring them joy every single day. Dr. Shimizu is pleased and honoured to offer his services as a trusted, skilled, and experienced family dentist.
